Mavericks Foundation
All too often, the economically and socially disadvantaged children that could most benefit from participation in team sport and the interaction with team mates and coaches brought by team sports are the ones least able to access it. The Mavericks Foundation has been established to enable the Mavericks to channel the teams fund-raising activities into helping low income and disadvantaged members of the community enjoy our sport.

50% of all money raised by the Mavericks adult and youth teams as well as a small donation from the registration of each adult player is given to the Mavericks foundation (soon to be a registered charity) The other 50% goes direct to local charities.
This money is then used to buy equipment for youth players to use and train with that they may otherwise not be able to afford. It is also avialble to enable children in care to attend Mavericks home games and spectate at team events.
In 2009 the Mavericks foundation has been used to fund essential game equipment for the youth team, to subsides the cost of equipment for low income players and to buy training equipment to enable players to train safely.
