Ever wanted to to be a QB like Tom Brady?
A rare opportunity has arisen for budding NFL talent to showcase their skills as one of the UK's top clubs is seeking a new quarter-back.
The East Kent Mavericks - based in Canterbury - have an opening for the most prestigious and sought-after specialist spot on the roster ahead of the next British American Football Association South Conference season.
Long-time Mavericks QB Josh Adamson left the club ahead of the 2015 season to take on the best in Europe with the London Blitz, and despite amassing some incredible stats in the Mavs' pass-first offence this year, Luke Jones has opted for a return to the receiving core ahead of the 2016 campaign.
The club are now on the lookout for a fresh arm to run the offence and Head Coach Glenn Lindley claimed: "This is not an opportunity that comes around very often."
He added: "We were very settled at the quarter-back position for a long time and were fortunate to be able to call on players of the calibre of Josh and keep the likes of Luke in reserve,
"However with Luke looking to return to receiver, we are looking for someone who can come in and lead the team in what we hope will be an exciting and successful season for us."
The club will hold a series of try-outs over the close-season around the county with regular training sessions held on the new 4G surface at the Simon Langton Boys Grammar School on Nackington Road in the city, just moments away from train links to London and beyond.
Lindley added: "We are prepared to look at anyone, no matter their age or experience level - if someone wants a shot, they've got it.
"Who knows, the next Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers might be out there, just waiting for the chance to show what they can do."
